Tailwheel Endorsement

No doubt, tailwheel training will make you a better pilot! We are Indiana’s premiere tailwheel training school and love what we do.

Flying the Stick and Rudder Aviation 2001 American Champion 7GCBC, you’ll learn:

  1. directional control

  2. flare

  3. coordination

  4. avoiding ground loops

  5. outside awareness

  6. control input synthesis

  7. and SO much more

We teach 7 phases of training:

  1. initial ground briefing

  2. aircraft familiarization

  3. 3 point landings on grass

  4. 3 point landings on pavement

  5. wheel landings on grass

  6. wheel landings on pavement

  7. Short cross country with 6 airport landings (including 3FK with 35’ wide runway)

At some point after phase 3, we actively look for strong crosswinds (15-20 kts) and train to that proficiency

Cost estimate: $1800-$2500. Depends solely on pilot skill

We’ve never had a student that said they were not a better pilot after earning their tailwheel endorsement!
